03 · The hard part
Rebuilding the whole world in post.
The audio from the day was unusable: construction, crowds and a highway right beside the park. So I built every footstep, every breath and every bird back in sound design, until the film worked with no music at all. Then I cut the song from its quiet intro straight to its climax, to go from a starting pose to a full sprint.
The last piece was the voiceover. I hadn't planned one. Once the edit was done, I knew it needed a voice, so I called Michaela back. Her read is what holds the film together.
