Closer, safely
Bird-flu protocol meant masks and bleached shoes. Following it got us closer to the flamingos than a long lens ever could.
Over the wall
We don't film through glass. A lift put us over a seven-foot wall and face to face with the hyenas.
A full zoo, on cue
The zoo closed the park for us, with one hour per location and no second day. We staged families in waves and kept the direction simple: smile, take it in, don't look at the camera.
Made for the phone, too
A second camera, turned on its side, shot vertical the whole day beside the anamorphic main camera. The social cuts were composed for 9:16 from the start, not cropped later.
